The City Plan Commission is responsible for the physical development of the City. The Commission makes and amends a master plan for location of public ways, parks, public places, playgrounds, parking areas and the necessary utilities that are incorporated into the plan. In addition to the master plan, the Plan Commission considers the acquisition, sale, or alteration of land for any street, park, airport, parking area or playground along with the platting of lands within the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City. The Plan Commission consists of the Mayor, one Council member, the chairman of the Park and Recreation Commission, and four citizens of the City. The City Attorney, City Administrator, Engineer Assistant and Community Development Director are ex-officio members of the Commission.
